Unfortunately, Breast Cancer touches almost every family. The wonderful success of Ride Cincinnati in the past was because you cared to make a difference in helping us find a cure for breast cancer. When I reached out to you, your response was heartwarming and encouraging. Since Ride Cincinnati’s inception in 2007, you have helped us to raise over $2,3 million for breast cancer research at The Barrett Cancer Center. I am thanking you in advance for your generous support for this most worthy cause.
When my wife, Marlene, died on September 7th, 2005, after she had bravely endured breast cancer for fifteen years, my family and I, along with many dear family and friends decided to create Ride Cincinnati. My daughter, Allison Harris Gordon, a two-time breast cancer survivor, is my other inspiration for organizing Ride Cincinnati so that a cure for this terrible disease will soon be discovered. Allison is again the chairperson of Ride Cincinnati.
The event is growing every year with last June hosting over 2,100 cyclists, young and not so young who joined us for a healthy, fun filled and exhilarating day that none of us shall ever forget. Ride Cincinnati includes bike rides for adults and children at all levels of cycling and a 3K walk. This year, our Eleventh Annual Ride Cincinnati, will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Yeatman’s Cove, Sawyer Point, in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. I will be riding again this year in memory of Marlene.
It means so much to me and to my family to have your support. Please join us! Wishing you good health and many years of happy cycling!
